Job Summary

Are you ready to take your finance skills to the next level and make a real difference in in small but highly performing cross-national team? We are looking for a Finance Lead who is not just great with numbers—but also curious, collaborative, and excited to support our Commercial Teams.

This role will be based in the Netherlands, but closely collaborating with a diverse North Europe Finance Team in the UK, Germany and Czech Republic. Our Dutch office is in Rijswijk near Amsterdam- you will be able to work in a hybrid environment at the office, at your home or from any other place in the Netherlands. 
In this role, you will lead the financial guidance, direction and analytical support for your stakeholders, and provide revenue, margin and expense analysis along with proactive recommendations for corrective actions when needed. 

You will also manage complex or cross-functional projects and will be the key contact for auditors and consultants. 

 

The role manages all day-to-day finance and administration activities for the two local entities, Harley-Davidson Benelux and Harley-Davidson Switzerland, to ensure compliance with local requirements and to support the business. This includes the execution of month-end close activities, production of management accounts and reports, review of the accounts with the Regional Finance Manager, preparation of variance analysis, costs and spending analysis, as well as assisting in the planning, budgeting and forecasting activities. This position will be responsible for the local financial accounting according to local GAAP and US GAAP. Taking full ownership of the statutory filings are completed as required (VAT, Statutory accounts, etc.) and leading the annual audit processes. Assisting the Regional Finance Manager in the evaluation of pricing and margins, providing finance support to the commercial team. 
 

Job Responsibilities

Provide business analysis with particular emphasis in understanding the business that you support to ensure [among the others: pricing for the regions is accurate, sales promotions perfom against expectations] 
•    Assist business leaders with the financial management of their departmental expenses.
•    Lead the development and assist in the preparation of all budgets and forecasts for expense, capital, and headcount in the appropriate departments 
•    Provide monthly financial support to the business: Record month end journal entries/accruals, assure all expenses are recorded in the month incurred, create departmental performance reports, and analyse spending variances.
•    Manage statutory reporting ( VAT, CIT and annual statements)
•    Support with monthly payroll and benefits management
•    Train new analysts and managers throughout area of responsibility and provide any necessary guidance and direction.
•    Spot opportunities for improvement in our processes and collaborate with your Finance collegaue to implement better ways or working.

Education Specifications

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent is desired.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Finance 
    •    Experience managing statutory requirements and audits 
    •    Strong Excel skills, SAP will be a plus
    •    Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
    •    A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
    •    Strong attention to detail while maintaining the broader, analytical perspective
    •    Excellent organizational skills 

The position may involve some travel to customer locations, motorcycle rally events, and other Harley-Davidson meetings.
