HDFS’ Reno, Nevada office serves as one of the Company's two operations centers. HDFS first established its roots in 1992 in Nevada. It is also home to Eaglemark Savings Bank, the Company’s lending institution, where all loans are funded. Reno employees represent the loan origination and servicing business units including Collections, Funding, Underwriting, Dealer Services, and HDFS’ Cycle Insurance business unit. There are also employees who work in Accounting, Legal, Global Information Services, Risk, Enterprise Project Management, and Compliance who call this office home. Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the management of accounting functions. Such functions include playing an active role in monthly financial closes and reporting, providing assistance to the team to ensure the maintenance of accurate books and records, and participating in projects as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in providing Accounting leadership and direction while coaching staff as appropriate on items such as journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensures accurate and proper recording of financial transactions, and prepares recommendations relative to the, assets, accruals, and expenditures.
  • Ensures accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, HDFS policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
  • Reviews monthly journal entries, monthly accounting reconciliations; performs general ledger maintenance, and assists financial analysts as needed in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Measures accomplishments to pre-established goals.
  • Participates in the coordination, creation and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Performs other duties as are assigned, such as participating in and leading aspects of projects.
  • Assists in reviewing financial statement footnotes for SEC & standalone financial reporting.

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with Concentration in Accounting Required

  • CPA certification Required

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required

Preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (some public accounting experience preferred)
  • General ledger experience is a plus
  • Financial reporting experience is a plus
  • SAP, accounting software, experience is a plus

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
