Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely importation, transportation, storage, and delivery of materials and products to distribution centers or end customers. This role plays a critical part in driving supply chain excellence by collaborating with internal and external partners, optimizing logistics processes, and supporting global standardization and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage analytical tools, digital platforms, and strategic insights to enhance service levels and cost-effectiveness across the logistics network.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Order Management, Supply & Demand Planning, Procurement) to ensure service level targets are met and issues are promptly resolved.
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers (warehousing, transportation, customs brokerage) to ensure high service performance, compliance, and cost control.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and areas for cost savings or process improvements.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of the global distribution network, including transportation routing, warehouse operations, and last-mile delivery models.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional and cross-regional continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Share and adopt best practices across global teams, contributing to knowledge management and standardized logistics processes.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal control policies.
Monitor and report logistics KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, transportation cost per unit, inventory turnover) to ensure transparency and drive performance.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations
- Proven experience working with 3PLs and transportation partners in a high-volume or international environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), TMS/WMS platforms, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
- Experience leading logistics projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and international shipping
- Background in customs documentation and import/export regulations
- Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers
Preferred
- APICS CPIM/CSCP, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent logistics/supply chain certifications are a plus.
