The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Manufacturing Supervisor (York, PA).

Job Summary

Fast paced, challenging environment supporting bargaining unit employees in rotation groups with team leaders in the manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, distribution, and/or development of motorcycles or motorcycle component parts.  Provides resources, tools, and direction needed for the value adders to be as effective and efficient as possible; lead and develop leaders.  Balances resource complaints to ensure the delivery of products are on time and within budget.  Understanding of quality-based root cause corrective action and containment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement and strives to achieve cost effective results
  • Hold teams accountable to processes, systems, and results
  • Participate in scheduling and production planning
  • Set the stage for the day (i.e. schedule changes, previous shift performance, quality issues, etc)
  • Work with union stewards to prevent and/or resolve issues early
  • Provide feedback to team members to ensure good quality throughout the group
  • Ensure standardized work and process discipline are followedPerform layered audits and prevents passing defects to the next group

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or related field Preferred

Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Previous direct supervisory or similar leadership experience
  • Experience in a unionized fast-paced, high-volume production or manufacturing focused environment
  • Prior knowledge and/or experience advising high performance work groups and experience with implementation and monitoring of Statistical Process Control systems,
  • ISO90001 processes
  • SAP/ERP experience
  • Strong data analysis skills related to quality improvement
  • Responds quickly to shifting priorities, adjusts strategies as needed, and remains productive and solution‑focused amid ambiguity.
  • Communicates clearly during transitions, provides guidance and support to teams, and helps build resilience and engagement throughout organizational change.
  • Approaches challenges with professionalism and neutrality; focuses on facts, goals, and desired outcomes rather than personal reactions.
  • Effectively navigates diverse viewpoints, fosters constructive dialogue, and guides individuals or groups toward mutually beneficial resolutions

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
