The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Advanced Manufacturing Engineer.

Job Summary

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer works collaboratively with Product Development and Manufacturing to yield innovative products and processes. This role supports and delivers the Life Cycle Plan from concept to production at Harley-Davidson’s various manufacturing plants, and impacts opportunities to influence design with assembly, machining, and paint.  The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer solves problems with development of integrated manufacturing systems, standardized processes and templates, risk assessment and mitigation, and after action reviews.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates working knowledge and experience in Design for Assembly, error proofing, fixture design, and torque strategy development. Ability to drive results with a moderate level of guidance and direction.
  • Impacts quality of their own work utilizing Just-In-Time (JIT) and Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement system, etc.).
  • Solves problems related to new tooling and parts by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment with a moderate level of guidance and direction.
  • Provides informal guidance to new Advanced Manufacturing team members and impacts the work of others within the group.
  • Effectively communicates complex information involving best practices with suppliers to others.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred. 

Experience Requirements

Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience. They will also have demonstrated the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and/or team and provide guidance to new team members.
  • Experience in overseeing medium to large scale projects from concept to development.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
