Job Summary
As a Lead Supply Programs, Program Manager within the Global Supply Chain organization at Harley-Davidson, this individual will lead multiple, complex projects with cross-functional teams. These teams plan and deliver projects in support of Harley-Davidson’s Hardwire strategies. The Lead Program Manager is member of the Program Management team that partners with cross-functional leaders to remove barriers and keep their teams focused on delivering high-quality projects on time, and within budget.

 

Job Responsibilities
•    Critical Path Plan: Establish, manage, and drive the program critical path via a deep understanding of crucial deliverables and cross-functional timing interdependencies (e.g., supplier onboarding, design and tooling release dates, test & validation, build events).
•    Risk & Issue Management: Actively identify and document program risks & issues. Ensure cross-functional alignment on risks & issues with program implications are understood, prioritized, have clear ownership, and effective actions are taken to drive resolution.
•    Program Operations: Run the day-to-day business of the program including cross-functional meetings (e.g., Weekly team meeting, Workshops), communications (e.g., Program Scorecard, Leadership Updates, Milestone Presentations) and facilitate approvals (e.g., Requirements, Purchase Requisitions, Integrated Business Case).
•    Resource Management: Own the end-to-end resourcing for the program. Drive alignment between program scope/timing and resources required to deliver.
•    Operating Model Execution: Guide the program team using the methodology/framework to ensure intent is met, and documentation is scaled according to associated value and risk.
•    Metrics & Make Good: Oversee and drive the program using metrics that provide a clear line of sight to launch readiness and program health. Measure and communicate results versus plan for proactive mitigation.

 

Key Behaviors
•    Program Leader: As a member of the Program Leadership Team, provide the “voice of program management” and fully represent your function in directing and approving work to ensure program success. 
•    Program Culture: Consistently center the team on what is most important and why. Mitigate dysfunction and waste by continually refining program operations to ensure efficient and effective execution (e.g., process, tools, communications). Clarify who is responsible for deliverables and timing. Empower individuals and get decisions made at lowest level practical.
•    Engagement: Build critical cross-functional support and alliances to drive engagement and energy. Amid chaos lead by example, provide stable ground, drive progress, and celebrate wins!
•    Help Chain: Ensure every team member has the knowledge, tools, and direction to be successful via program onboarding, and training. Identify and fill gaps by connecting individuals with relevant experts for help.

 

Required Experience & Skill Set:
•    Lead level typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience in project leadership.
•    Experience in leading product development or sourcing programs (e.g., supplier qualification/onboarding, product test & validation, production ramp & integration)
•    Ability to drive a cross-functional team with urgency by holding others accountable for their deliverables on the program critical path
•    Critical Path timeline creation in MS Project or Planner
•    Risk & Issue identification and resolution tracking in Jira
•    File management in Teams/SharePoint

 


Education Requirements
•    Bachelor's Degree preferred

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
