The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a  Sr. Design Engineer - Paint Innovation.

Job Summary

 

Harley-Davidson is looking for a creative individual with a passion for innovation to join our paint and graphics engineering team.  This senior-level role will be responsible for developing and delivering the comprehensive new product innovation plan.  This role will directly impact all Harley-Davidson motorcycle “look”, bringing exciting new visuals to our customers.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborating internally with our Design Studio and Product Planning teams to identify project opportunities and their value proposition.
  • Looking externally for new looks and technological advancements to bring back for assessment.
  • Developing a multi-year roadmap which plots project delivery while also supporting our internal and external manufacturing strategies.
  • Integrating paint projects into our broader innovation and advanced development team.
  • Assigning design engineers advanced development projects and managing progress up through sampling and manufacturing trials.
  • Directly input into motorcycle product life cycle plan.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical Degree.

Experience Requirements

 

This position typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.  In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the following:

  • Innovation and advanced delivery development
  • Delivering or supporting new product development
  • Interfacing with CMF (Color, Materials, Finishes) industrial designers
  • Design of component coatings (liquid industrial paint, inorganic finishes, PVD, ect.)
  • Manufacturing delivery of parts with coatings
  • Manufacturing paint shop automation

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
