  • The home bases of our EV Powertrain Systems engineering team are located at the Harley-Davidson Product Development center in Wauwatosa, WI and at our Livewire Labs facility in Mountain View, CA.
  • The LiveWire engineering team works in a hybrid virtual work environment that includes a mix of on campus and remote activities as driven by the work requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and deliver component/system designs from concept to production for the LiveWire electric vehicle division focused on expertise in the mechanical systems and integration of the EV Powertrain (battery, motor, and power electronics unit) 
  • Create CAD models, large virtual assemblies and detailed drawings for motorcycle components/systems utilizing techniques within Creo Parametric software to optimize vehicle performance, usability, quality, DFM/DFA, and cost through innovation and creativity.
  • Closely interface with software and electrical groups as well as cross-functional teams to develop world class designs while leveraging Harley-Davidson’s extensive product development assets including test labs, proving grounds and advanced product development capabilities.
  • Mature system strategy and architecture through technology advancements, specification development, and knowledge-base creation in EV Powertrain systems.
  • Help establish a consistent mindset that is focused on the highest value work. Lead and reinforce application of best practices to streamline the product development process and deliver world-class engineering to efficiently and effectively lead the industry.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree.

Experience Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental physics and demonstrated usage of a variety of engineering tools and techniques to develop and optimize designs
  • Experience managing functional trade-offs between systems and components to support higher level integration while improving overall designs
  • Proven success in solving challenging technical problems with innovative solutions in a team environment.
  • Experience with risk mitigation APQP processes, including DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA and Control Plans 
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects in a clear, concise manner to multiple levels of the organization.  
  • Success in directly or indirectly leading a team to meet aggressive quality, cost, timing, and performance objectives. 
  • Experience with project management tools and principles
