Job Summary

The Supply Quality Lead will be responsible for delivering supplier quality requirements of new products by identification and mitigation of risk in product and process development.  This position is responsible for understanding the industry best practices, processes and quality trends for suppliers within their assigned commodity and using that knowledge to collaborate as a core Product Development team member from concept through launch.  This position will partner with both internal and external stakeholders to develop robust production processes that deliver a high-quality product to our factories and our end customers.  
This role will have a focus in the electrical commodities but may branch into other commodities as necessary.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the quality of new products within assigned commodity.  
o    Demonstrates in depth knowledge in Supplier Quality and related areas such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
o    Influence Design for Quality (DFQ) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) on Life Cycle Plan and P&A product plan projects.
o    Evaluate and influence supplier process readiness and associated risks.
o    Communicate cross-functionally across Supply Quality, Supply Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering in both the OE and P&A organization to ensure supply quality risks and mitigation plans are clearly identified.
o    Perform QMS assessments (VDA) as needed.
•    Partner with Engineering and Supply Management to understand and influence commodity strategy and future vision of electrical commodities.
•    Create a relationship with suppliers to foster partnership throughout the lifecycle of their parts.  
•    Serve as a mentor to team members to support group development.  
•    Ability to speak and present to a variety of different audiences (discipline, size, title, etc) and tailor the discussion appropriately to their need for information. 
•    Lead cross-functional teams or projects that benefit the broader Supply Quality Organization.
•    Ability to interpret quality system management techniques at assigned suppliers and recommend best practices to ensure quality performance targets are met.
•    Works independently and understands proper escalation and support structure.
 

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) TrainingVDA 6.3 Training

Experience Requirements

•    Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret quality system management techniques and recommend best practices to improve metrics.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead a group and/or team and provide guidance to other employees.
•    Proven track record of leading projects with cross-functional teams including internal and external stakeholders.
•    Deep expertise in working with supplier process development, specifically in the electrical commodities.  
•    Travel required up to 50%.
