Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Join our team as an Electrical Systems Design Engineer on the team developing body control systems and components.  The body control system, and particularly the body control module, is the brain of the vehicle, controlling and coordinating a wide variety of functions.  We are looking for an engineer who will provide creative solutions to challenging vehicle problems.  Specific deliverables include:
•    Develop electrical component & system requirements through collaboration, product benchmarking and input from internal stakeholders 
•    Design technical solutions to achieve requirements
•    Develop designs through Tier I electrical component partners and approve designs for production 
•    Verify component & system performance to H-D standards, approve supplier validation, and work with test and verification entities to ensure EE system meets or exceeds targets 
•    Resolve technical issues by applying problem solving techniques and facilitating cross-functional engineering & test support as needed 
•    Develop software verification plans to ensure features are intuitive and robust at product launch 
•    Support pre-production and launch build events and participate in product test & evaluations
•    Provide technical leadership for body systems including engagement of diverse stakeholders across H-D and mentoring of other engineers

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Experience Requirements

Experience Required:
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of related experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated many of the following:
•    Electrical system/component development including electrical design, software development, and system integration
•    Technical knowledge and design experience of existing vehicle technologies (auto, motorcycle, truck, bus, agriculture, etc.) as well as awareness of future vehicle technologies, with an ability to inform future vehicle designs
•    Creative approach to solving problems and able to own issue resolution from data collection, data analysis, root cause identification, solution set generation, and selection of optimal solution
•    Authoring requirements, developing test-cases, and establishing traceability in a process that supports product development in accordance with a functional safety process, ISO26262 preferred.  
•    Experience with Quality Engineering deliverables, including DFMEAs and Design Validation Plans and Test Reports
•    Experience working with teams of internal stakeholders and suppliers to meet aggressive quality and performance objectives
•    Success using project management tools and principles to deliver on-time and within budget
•    Ability to communicate technical subjects in a clear, concise manner to multiple levels of the organization
