Our plant in Tomahawk, WI manufactures, finishes and ships composite and plastic parts to our final assembly plants. Join us as a Engineer Advanced Manufacturing, Paint.

Job Summary

Join the Harley-Davidson family as an Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing, where you'll shape the future of manufacturing at one of the most iconic brands in the world. In this role, you'll work hands-on with innovative products and processes, collaborating with product development and manufacturing teams to bring ideas from concept to production across Harley-Davidson's cutting-edge facilities. You'll play a pivotal role in creating unique paint schemes and stylized surfaces that define our brand, ensuring every product is crafted to perfection.

Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Innovate and Influence: Drive design improvements and contribute to Harley-Davidson's legacy by shaping manufacturing systems that lead to iconic products. You'll work with teams to integrate advanced manufacturing systems, create standardized processes, and perform after-action reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Lead and Guide: Provide valuable insights and informal guidance to new team members, helping to build a collaborative and high-impact Advanced Manufacturing team.
  • Problem Solve and Optimize: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve challenges, analyze solutions, and contribute to risk assessment and mitigation strategies—all while helping streamline processes and improve quality.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with suppliers to communicate best practices and ensure quality at every step. Your work will influence designs and ensure that every product reflects Harley-Davidson's commitment to excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Hands-On Manufacturing Expertise: Extensive experience in Design for Manufacturing, with an emphasis on part design, fixture development, and robotic paint systems. A background in automated paint processes is highly desirable.
  • Project Management Savvy: Skilled in managing large-scale projects, creating and tracking budgets, and using metrics to make informed decisions.
  • Commitment to Quality: Familiarity with Just-In-Time (JIT) and Lean Manufacturing principles (such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement) to maintain and enhance quality standards.
     

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred.  

Experience Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and/or team and provide guidance to new team members.
  • Experience in overseeing medium to large-scale projects from concept to development.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
