Job Summary

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Global Director of Commercial Finance, the role is responsible for managing the APAC region's financial planning and managerial reporting. As such, the role works closely with the APAC leadership in commercial sales, operations, and marketing and with the statutory managers for the different subregions within APAC. 

The APAC region is one of Harley-Davidson’s most dynamic regions and is expected to deliver substantial growth for Harley-Davidson over the coming years.   The region comprises our presence in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and Singapore.   A Thai-based manufacturing facility is expected to drive substantial growth for Harley in the region, both in Thailand and across all Asian markets.  Currently, the region sells more than 20,000 motorcycle units. This number is expected to grow substantially as Harley expands its regional commercial and production capabilities. 

The Team  

To support the reporting, analysis and business partnering responsibilities associated with the role the manager leads a group of 3 team members. 

Job Responsibilities

One key aspect of the role is the overview of the entire APAC business, which requires understanding results and providing insights and suggestions to steer the business forward. The APAC Finance Manager FP&A will partner closely with key regional leadership to jointly drive business decisions for Harley-Davidson in the region. 
General roles and responsibilities include:  

  • This role is responsible for delivering month-end analysis of performance and variances to budget and prior year \
  • This role will have control of the APAC Contra-revenue budget, partnering closely with the commercial and order management team to account for and oversee the planning of promotional activity and variable margin share with Harley-Davidson dealerships in region. 
  • Budgeting: This role will coordinate the region-wider efforts to create and maintain a yearly budget accounting for sales and profit in every market within the region and as a whole  
  • Pricing: This role works closely with the commercial team to price motorcycles and related products yearly, following Motorcycle Management recommendations and complying with financial goals. 
  • Business Partnering.  This role is an active business partner to the APAC leadership and is responsible for supporting the RVP through analysis of actuals, support in devising and controlling actions to drive business results, and generally delivering against agreed-upon targets.   

The dynamic nature of the region and the diverse scope of the role offers plenty of opportunity for continued review and alignment of processes.  As such the expectation is that the successful candidate will continue to identify areas for process simplifications and to execute these in partnership with others.

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics is required.  

Experience Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience. 

  • Organized and detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills. 

  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Applications is required; experience with BPC/EPM system is a plus. 

  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.  

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the company with strong teamwork skills are critical to success.
