Our International Markets are focused on delivering the H-D strategy to build the next generation of riders, these markets support creating and fulfilling the dreams of our existing and the new riders.  The International Market is made up of diverse locations within our Emerging and Developed Markets across nearly 900 dealers in circa 95 countries and is part of the larger Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

 

From Singapore to Greece and many places in between, our employees are essential to our success.  The emerging markets region represents sales, marketing and many other associated activities of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company across nearly 500 dealers in circa 80 countries and is part of the larger International Region of Harley-Davidson Motor Company.  The team works closely with the local regional office and the wider organisation including the Company Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA).

Job Summary

Background:

The Consumer Segment teams are part of the Consumer Portfolio Management (CPM) organization, which encompasses Consumer Insight, Consumer Research and Analytics, Product Management and Go-To-Market strategy. The broader CPM organization are experts and advocates for consumers driving inspired product / service solutions that shape H-D’s future. The CPM Organization plans, brings to market, and manages our portfolio of products and services for Motorcycles, and Parts & Accessories.

The Consumer Segment teams are responsible for effectively identifying market segments and target consumers through superior, consumer-led, data-driven insights to drive and support our portfolio plans.

 

Job Summary:

The Regional Integration Lead-Consumer Segments serves as THE liaison between CPM and the sales region they are assigned to. Under minimal supervision of the Consumer Segments Director, develops consumer insights to drive our portfolio plans.

Job Responsibilities

Consumer Insight:​

  • Understand company strategic objectives, the assigned marketplace, and working with regional teams to uncover business opportunities
  • Capture and organize regional consumer insights from research, industry data, observation, and various stakeholder groups to be incorporated into portfolio planning 
  • Participate in volume planning and pricing, including collaborating with regional sales organizations on product/service positioning
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the regional marketplace and an intent focus to recognize early trends in order to anticipate future or unspoken consumer wants and needs   ​
  • Develops regional / market insights for quarterly performance reporting
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for one segment and one sales market

Market Opportunity:​

  • Identify research & knowledge gaps, prioritize and develop hypotheses to address key business issues.   ​
  • Explore hypotheses to discover the next level of opportunities and challenges.​
  • Prepare market opportunity sizing   ​
  • Strategically leverage external knowledge sources to create more complete/deeper recommendations.  ​
  • Recommend strategies and tactics that can be implemented to drive portfolio performance, identify gaps or solve problems
  • Develop and manage consistent approaches to best practice insight level development methods and applications across the organization
  • Provide recommendations/guidance based on market analysis or sales data​

Communication:​

  • Maintain accurate and current communications around CPM initiatives with appropriate stakeholders including leadership sales regions, marketing, finance and the product development community​
  • Ensure the assigned market(s) and relevant market teams are familiar with portfolio target consumers, segmentation & plans
  • Cascade consumer insights to broader organization ​

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Market Research or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

This role typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience highlighting:

  • Business analysis experience with specific emphasis on business/marketing research and consumer, retail and market insights - preferably with consumer brands.
  • Proven business acumen and demonstrated ability to conduct, manage and synthesize consumer, retail, market, and product data and deliver strategic insights supporting overarching corporate strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time management/prioritization skills. Demonstrated experience in integrating disparate sources of information into a coherent “story” that answers specific business hypotheses.
  • Ability to influence across the organization at multiple levels and build collaborative, productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.
  • Ability to coach, counsel and develop others’ experience.
  • A true team spirit who thrives on working as part of an enthusiastic and energetic team, and inspiring others; demonstrating a collaborative approach to achieving results and encouraging the inputs and ideas of others. Understands the importance of active listening in the role.
  • Global perspective and understanding, thinking across borders and cultures.
  • Experience with motorcycle product, markets, and consumers preferred.
