HDFS’ Reno, Nevada office serves as one of the Company's two operations centers. HDFS first established its roots in 1992 in Nevada. It is also home to Eaglemark Savings Bank, the Company’s lending institution, where all loans are funded. Reno employees represent the loan origination and servicing business units including Collections, Funding, Underwriting, Dealer Services, and HDFS’ Cycle Insurance business unit. There are also employees who work in Accounting, Legal, Global Information Services, Risk, Enterprise Project Management, and Compliance who call this office home. Job Summary
This Operational Accountant role supports the operational accounting and month-end close processes for the Retail business for Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS) and its bank subsidiary, Eaglemark Savings Bank (ESB). Such functions include playing an active role on the team to ensure maintenance of accurate books and records, checkroom processing, company projects, systems maintenance, and testing.
Job Responsibilities
- Creates timely and well-supported daily and monthly journal entries and daily and monthly account reconciliations.
- Assists in the monthly accounting close.
- Be an integral part of the checkroom process, which includes preparing and processing weekly customer/dealer checks.
- Participates in system maintenance and testing, with a focus on SAP and relevant sub-ledger systems.
- Assists with ad-hoc financial reporting requests, external and internal audits.
- Implements process improvements for journal entries, account reconciliations and other processes in the areas of responsibility.

Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Accounting/Finance Preferred
Experience Requirements
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, multi-task and achieve results
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required
Preferred
- SAP (accounting software) and general ledger experience
- Financial services experience
