This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that’s sufficient for completing their job remotely.

Job Summary

This position will help as a subject matter expert for packaging design and application of those designs in manufacturing and assembly operations as well as in related supply chains. Position will design and develop appropriate packaging solutions for components that balances the protection of the component while managing cost. The incumbent will help provide input and support for the development of project, departmental and plant budgets, and forecasts to maximize value of packaging expenditures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in Packaging.
  • Impacts the achievement through designing and developing the appropriate packaging and crating solutions for vehicles and powertrains to drive results in protection.
  • Resolves complex problems related to Packaging. Works independently, requiring guidance on only the most complex situations.
  • Leads others to solve complex problems related to Packaging using analytical thought, exercising judgment and identifying innovative solutions. May lead functional teams or projects.
  • Communicates difficult concepts such as designing and developing appropriate packaging solutions and negotiates with others to effectively influence as appropriate.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret Packaging solutions and recommend best practices to improve services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a group and/or team and provide guidance to other employees.
  • Proven track record of reviewing designs and determining appropriate testing to ensure implementation of robust solutions.
  • Deep expertise in designing packaging based on transportation, density maximization, protection, and cost.
  • Worked in a distribution, manufacturing, or product development environment.
  • Travel required up to 35%.

Preferred

  • Motorcycle riding experience and knowledge in the area of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
