Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for leading the design and delivery of technology solutions within multiple technical disciplines for the retail lending and insurance product teams in a manner that returns quantified business value.  Success is measured by consistently achieving key functional and individual objectives with superior quality, as well as delivering desired technology solutions for the enterprise.  Specifically, responsible for leading the design, and implementation governance of technology solutions across multiple global functional business areas and providing effective solution designs that enable development teams to deliver products that provide the capabilities necessary to enable the execution of current and future business and technology strategies. Ensure that solutions are integrated end-to-end to meet stated Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Complete design for technology solutions ranging from high level conceptual designs to detailed technical specifications based on desired capabilities/user stories.
  • Lead various technology, infrastructure, and application efforts. Manage and execute system and application implementations; ensuring technical standards, strategies and guiding principles are being followed.
  • Review design artifacts produced by others to ensure quality and compliance with design standards and architectural guiding principles.  Review of development increments to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Develop AS-IS views of the current technical design and possible to-be technical solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Understand current and emerging industry patterns to support large scale integrated solutions.
  • Bring together functional product owners to drive end to end functional solutions.
  • Review and roadmap key pattern shifts that drive longer term modernization.
  • Recommend design changes to in-production systems in response to changing business process, capacity, risks, and performance requirements as well as solution and technology roadmaps.  
  • Contribute to refinement and prioritization of technology backlog items
  • Provide input to and assist in the authoring and refinement of user stories.
  • Provide consulting to identify technology system’s functional and non-functional requirements in partnership with the Business Analysis and Product Manager role. 
  • Represent design changes at oversight boards.

Education Requirements

 

  • HS Diploma or GED Required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Systems is preferred.; an advanced degree a plus.
  • ITIL Foundations and Service Design certifications desired
  • Agile/Scrum certification a plus (CSM, CSPO, PSD)

Experience Requirements

 

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of experience leading design and development efforts for large scale integrated solutions.
  • At least 8 years of successful project delivery with a focus on systems design, particularly with large scale program and project delivery.
  • At least 8 years of experience designing and integrating solutions with at least two years developing with micro service API patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with development tools, administration, design, configuration, customization and implementation of applications, security, and 3rd party integrations.
  • Strong experience in, and orientation toward solution design and structured system development methodologies
  • Experience coordinating design activities and deliverables across a technology project or program.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing other personnel in design and delivery roles.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in planning, managing, and delivering technology solutions.
  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing within Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Experience with Java, JavaEE, and API development.  Recent hands-on development required. 
  • Experience with BPM tooling sets, preferably Camunda.
  • Experience leading/managing complex technology projects requiring advanced design and development methodologies.
  • Experience with Single Sign-on using SAML 2.0
  • Experience with architecture, design, and implementation on one or more Harley-Davidson technical platforms including AIX/Linux, Oracle, WebSphere, Cloud native services on Azure, Containers, Kubernetes, Kafka, Jboss, Mulesoft, SAP PO, Pega or other modern platforms preferred.
  • Experience with JIRA and HP-QC/Microfocus-ALM a plus.
  • Experience in Captive Finance, Banking, or Insurance is strongly preferred.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
