This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that’s sufficient for completing their job remotely.

Job Summary

This position provides subject matter expertise in the design, implementation, communication and cost-effective administration of Harley-Davidson's compensation programs.  This includes the administration of base pay, short- and long-term incentive plans, global compensation and regulatory compliance. In partnership with the business and Human Resources leaders, supports the development of the strategic direction towards the ongoing evolution of global best practices for reward programs in alignment with the overarching Total Rewards philosophy. Serves as an internal resource to management in the development of reward and recognition programs that attract and retain talent, encourage expected behaviors, and reward the achievement of desired business results. Serving in a Center of Excellence capacity, works in collaboration with Human Resources Business Services, Finance, Legal, Global Information Services, line management and external consulting partners to achieve organizational reward program objectives. Assures that Harley-Davidson's rewards systems are internally equitable, externally competitive, and are implemented and administered in compliance with government regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Competitive Compensation Analysis: Oversees the completion of ad hoc and annual market evaluations of positions and analyses to establish competitive position; Manages the portfolio of compensation surveys; Manages consulting projects including recommendation and selection of vendors; and performs special studies, analysis and recommendations on compensation issues as needed.
  • Communication and Administration: Oversees the communication and administration of all compensation programs offered by the company. Develops cost effective compensation programs which serve to support our employee value proposition and drive business results. Manages all reward vendor relationships. Provides user input to all internal and external systems which support compensation delivery to participants. Works with outside actuaries, lawyers and auditors to ensure compliance with all regulations (DOL, ERISA and IRS).
  • Policy and Program Administration: Develops, implements and administers reward policies and programs; has involvement in supporting the preparation of materials being presented to senior management and the Human Resources Committee of the Board; ensures quality services are delivered to the internal customer and oversees fair and equitable program administration.
  • Program Design: Creates a business partnership with line management and corporate leaders to ensure compensation initiatives are closely aligned with the needs of the business and effectively communicated to employees. This will be achieved by: partnering with key constituents to assess, address, and outline current and future themes and strategic directions for the business; translating business metrics into successful reward strategies/initiatives; and monitors compliance and effectiveness of reward programs and makes changes where needed; identifies and develops future initiatives to fill gaps in existing programs or recommends changes to programs based upon company objectives, competitive market trends and employee feedback.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to be sensitive to stakeholders needs and provide excellent customer service. Works with high ethical standards and maintains utmost confidentiality at all time.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years related experience. Minimum of 3 years of management experience.
  • 3 years of rewards program experience which includes presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of local and federal regulatory requirements which govern reward programs.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making ability as well as demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skill and effectiveness as a coach/consultant and manager.
  • Ability to successfully measure and track results.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
