Job Summary:

The Visitor Experience Associate (VEA) is the first point of contact for Museum guests and will be responsible for providing world-class hospitality and a positive, enjoyable learning experience for all guests. The VEA role is an integral part of our Museum team, responsible for day-to-day ticketing and tour operations. VEAs are responsible for welcoming all Museum guests, processing sales of tickets and enhancements and providing guests with information to enjoy their on-campus experience. Tour Guides will perform in the VEA capacity as well as become fully trained in multiple tour scripts to conduct a variety of guided experiences for guests based on the tour schedule and bookings of private tours.

 

Job Responsibilities:
•    Requires outstanding hospitality skills with the ability to understand and resolve guest questions or issues
•    Process sales of tickets, tours and annual passes using a point-of-sale system
•    Possess sales skills that will contribute to achieving sales goals
•    Perform in several operational posts 
•    Must be able to learn multiple tour scripts through a structured Tour Guide Training Program and conduct tours for Museum guests
•    Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while being fair, honest, positive, and creative
•    Schedule flexibility: a minimum of 24 hours per week (three shifts) is required, including weekends and holidays. The Museum is open 7-days/week, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

 

Education Specifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED/HSED is required. Must be 18 years or older.


Experience Requirements:
•    Two years of previous experience in a guest service or hospitality capacity
•    Ability to understand and resolve guest questions or issues while keeping the organization’s goals in mind

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
