This role will be remote. Ideally, candidates will be in Boston/New England, Chicago, Dallas, or Milwaukee.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Software Engineering, the Technical Manager of Software Engineering is a proven leader who will manage at least one digital software engineering team for Harley-Davidson across our Omni-channel initiatives.  

In this role you will:

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 8 years) work experience
  • 8+ years of overall software development experience
  • 3+ years of Web Development experience, particularly customer facing responsive web applications
  • Hands on experience with eCommerce applications, conceptualizing, designing, building and deploying solutions
  • Strong experience with Javascript and TypeScript
  • Strong analytical skills, problem determination and debugging, attention to detail, teamwork and excellent communication skills
  • Good working experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience working within cloud-based environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience leading the development of at least one product or feature from ideation to launch
  • Experience having an active role in shaping the culture and technical standards of an engineering organization
  • Knowledge of software development concepts/methodology/life-cycle, especially Agile methodology

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like jQuery, Angular, React
  • Working knowledge of server side programming frameworks like Node JS, Java
  • Working knowledge of building eCommerce platforms using Big Commerce or Shopify
  • Experience developing and supporting mobile web applications
