This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work.

 

Job Summary

 

Harley-Davidson is searching for a Lead UX Designer who is up to the challenge of driving the design of world-class digital products and experiences that live within the Harley-Davidson digital ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to own the meticulous details of design systems and create experiences that consumers love. In this role, you will use your creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to bring radical change and innovation to the way customers interact with our brand. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for coaching others including planning and assigning projects and tasks, reviewing progress and evaluating results. Provides formal and informal mentoring to other staff members
  • Be an advocate for user needs and experiences throughout the design process
  • Design, prototype, and build (to ensure design intent is met) digital products and experiences at all levels of fidelity. Create development ready files, artifacts and documentation and clearly communicate design intent to members of the development team.
  • Utilize the design thinking process to create a cohesive customer experience.
  • Work with research specialists, create plans for and participate in UX research to translate generative and evaluative design research insights and implications into meaningful interactions and experiences for consumers
  • Identify areas to test designs in user testing. Create user test plans, conduct and/or oversee user testing as needed. Prepare designs for A/B testing and suggest A/B testing when more insight is desired.
  • Utilize quantitative data and qualitative customer insights to create informed experiences that customers love while supporting business KPI’s
  • In addition to wireframes and prototypes using various design tools (Figma, Adobe CS), build deliverables such as concept hypotheses, user journeys, storyboards and jobs-to-be-done that synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Ensure brand consistency and coherency across products and experiences.
  • Collaborate and lead effectively with UX Strategy & Design Managers, as well as cross-functional partners from Marketing to Brand Design.

 

Education Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • A degree in design, interaction design, design planning, human-computer preferred

 

Experience Requirements

 

  • At least 8 years of hands-on UX design experience
  • An outstanding portfolio of prior work that demonstrates strong capabilities designing transactional user experiences across a range of different projects
  • A strong sense of UI design is a must.
  • Experience working in a company with a strong brand presence, and either developing a design system or working successfully within one
  • Expert knowledge with the following:
  • Design and Prototyping tools such as Figma, AdobeCS (advance prototyping tools such as Principle a plus. Experience working in AfterEffects a plus).
  • Experience in MS suite (Word, Powepoint, Teams)
  • Knowledge of utilizing content management tools such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) a plus
  • Brainstorming and planning tools such as Miro
  • Languages such as HTML & CSS, JavaScript – knowledge of is great, but not necessarily a must
  • Additional consideration given for those with the following preferred skills: Animation Illustration Branding & Identity Storytelling
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working in agile and lean environments
  • Experience balancing multiple projects at a time.
