Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the “jewel” of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Job Summary

This electrical controls engineering position will support processes, systems and best practices associated with world class manufacturing by providing technical expertise and guidance on the operation and maintenance of production assets. Coordinate projects and provide technical support on new and existing machine tools for the production operations. There will be direct involvement in new equipment selection, approval drawings, component specification, recommend spare parts attainment, maintenance training requirements, preventive maintenance recommendations, manual and documentation procurement.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and modifying manufacturing equipment using Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, Fanuc robots, Siemens and Fanuc CNC machines. 
  • Programming PLCs and CNC machines to meet production requirements, including writing ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text. 
  • Configuring and integrating Fanuc robots into production lines, optimizing their performance for maximum efficiency and productivity. 
  • Troubleshooting electrical control systems to diagnose and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime. 
  • Conducting continuous improvement initiatives with the maintenance and production teams to enhance system reliability and performance. 
  • Collaborating with external vendors and contractors to source components and equipment, ensuring compatibility with existing systems. 
  • Providing technical support and training to maintenance technicians and operators on control system operation and maintenance procedures. 
  • Documenting control system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference. 
  • Adhering to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure compliance with regulations and minimize risk.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Experience with robot controls
  • Experience with PLC software and CNC controls and drives

  • Experience with Fanuc and ABB robots
  • Experience with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and drives
