At Harley-Davidson, our Mission is more than building machines, we stand for timeless pursuit of adventure.  Freedom for the Soul.  We celebrate diverse and new thinking, we always ask why and how, we look outside of our four walls for insights and learnings, and we move smart so we can move fast.  We need leaders who demonstrate our key leadership principles that fuel a winning team.

Communication:  You focus your communication on outcomes not process.  You listen well, instead of reacting fast.  Presentations clearly define the situation, complication, key questions, and recommendation based in data.

Agility:  You recognize that change is the new norm, you define your destination clearly, but are open to multiple paths to get there.  You operate in a collaborative, iterative, fluid organizational system.  By adopting agile approaches, you unfreeze any rigid management system and unlock innovation.  You are focused on creating valuable products and services for our customers.

Impact: You accomplish great amounts of important work, at great speed.  You demonstrate consistently strong performance so colleagues can rely on you.  You focus on results and positive impact rather than on process.  You exhibit bias-to-action.

Simplicity:  You recognize the value of simplicity in every function of our organization- e.g., how we build our products, how we work.  You proactively remove unnecessary complexity in your role.

Speed:  You recognize that to win, we must move quickly and stay ahead of our competition.  You prioritize speed over perfection and adjust as you go.  You change cumbersome and time-consuming processes that do not add value.

Culture: FHPC- Fair, Honest, Positive and Creative is our moral compass.  You work to win for H-D.  You seek the hardest and most important questions to answer.  You care deeply about the future of H-D and one another.

Courage:  You question the unquestionable.  You say what you think even if it is controversial.  You make tough decisions being FHPC.  You take smart, and informed risks.

Judgement: You identify root causes and go beyond treating symptoms.  You think strategically, and can articulate what you are, and are not, trying to do.  You smartly separate what must be done well now, and what can be improved later.

Focus:  You recognize it is more impactful to do 3 things well vs 10 things with medium effort.  You ruthlessly prioritize a short list of initiatives.  You proactively eliminate distractions from that which you know to be the most important.  You are realistic in the goals you set.

Lean:  You seek the least resource intensive path to critical outcomes.  You figure out how to do more with less.  You personally take on any task that is critical to reaching the outcome you seek.
