Job Summary


The Corporate Accounting Manager supports the finance team by assisting in the management of accounting functions for Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS).  Such functions include playing an active role in monthly financial closes and reporting, ensuring the maintenance of accurate books and records, and participating in projects as necessary.

Job Responsibilities


  • Assists in providing Accounting leadership and direction while coaching staff as appropriate on items such as journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensures accurate and proper recording of financial transactions, and prepares recommendations relative to accounting reserves, accruals, and expenditures.
  • Ensures accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP, HDFS policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
  • Leads contract reviews, technical research and accounting treatment assessments to support business operations and projects
  • Manages aspects of the quarterly and year-end financial statements, including footnote disclosure related to accounts in scope of responsibility 
  • Assists in coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Prepares ad-hoc reporting and analysis as well as supports financial analysts in preparation and analysis of annual budget and periodic forecasts, as needed)
  • Measures accomplishments to pre-established goals.
  • Participates in the coordination, creation and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Performs other duties as are assigned, such as participating in and leading aspects of projects and participating in testing of system upgrades and system patches where appropriate.

Education Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in Accounting required

Experience Requirements



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (some public accounting experience preferred)
  • General ledger and financial reporting experience 
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to motivate and lead others in support of team management and resource planning 
  • Collaborates effectively with other teams 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 




  • CPA certification 
  • Financial services and reinsurance experience 
  • SAP experience

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
