Job Summary

We are seeking a Battery Pack Technical Lead to own overall design and delivery of battery systems for all LiveWire vehicles. You will coordinate and drive engineering work across disciplines, leading design reviews, trade studies, architectural and technical decisions. You will track and report status to requirements, identify risks and opportunities, and lead development work to refine designs. You will drive validation, troubleshooting and release to production, and help to identify and prioritize R&D work for future improvements. You will ensure that Livewire’s battery technology is a major competitive advantage and remains so for decades to come.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of pack development from concept through to validation. Track and report development status and performance to requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate ME, EE, SW, and other teams to define battery system architecture, derive component level requirements, and create optimized designs. Lead design reviews, trade studies and analyses, and design decisions.
  • Track design metrics, competitive landscape, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Voice of pack engineering in prioritizing R&D work, influencing product strategy.

Experience Requirements


  • BS or MS Engineering, minimum 6 yrs relevant experience.
  • Broad experience in relevant topics: electrical and thermal safety, BMS functions, electrical systems, thermal design, mechanical design, vehicle powertrain.
  • Experience leading development of complex electromechanical systems through entire product lifecycle and into stable volume production.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
