Job Summary

 

Join our team as a System Engineer in Vehicle Dynamics and Simulation and live your passion for two-wheeled vehicles of all kinds to help deliver freedom to the current and next generation of Harley-Davidson riders.

Job Responsibilities

 

This is what you’ll do:

 

  • Deliver world-class ride and handling performance for current and future vehicle product and innovation programs through the application of vehicle dynamics theory, simulation and laboratory testing
  • Work in a passionate, dedicated, high performing team of two-wheeled enthusiasts that will challenge you to excel and encourage your development
  • Investigate, design and utilize state of the art CAE tools to develop simulation methods and models to guide vehicle dynamics development of all current and future vehicles
  • Create test, evaluation and design guidelines, standardized work and standardized tools that seamlessly support new product development and innovation teams
  • Explore potential new spaces and applications of two-wheeled vehicles and develop relevant test methods and performance criteria to deliver ground breaking designs and exciting new products
Education Specifications

 

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred) or related engineering degree.
Experience Requirements

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

 

  • Advanced technical understanding of vehicle dynamics concepts and their relationship to vehicle design attributes
  • Strong experience in computer programming and other automated data analysis tools (Matlab, Somat InField, Python, GlyphWorks etc.)
  • Solid understanding of kinematic and dynamic principles and relevant experience using dynamic simulation software packages such as LMS Virtual Lab, ADAMS, Working model 3D, Matlab/Simulink, FastBike, CARSIM, BIKESIM, Altair MotionView, VI-Grade, etc.
  • Technical aptitude for creation or analysis of objective test methods, metrics and analysis techniques
  • Experience with vehicle development through simulation, test data acquisition and analysis, or on-vehicle testing and interaction with remote vehicle test sites
