Job Summary

Join our team as a Design Engineer in support of EV powertrain system component development.  The successful candidate will be responsible for development of component Hardware and Software functional requirements, creating validation test plans, minimizing component cost drivers, and driving component development timelines.

Job Responsibilities

This is what you’ll do..

  • Develop electrical system & component requirements for EV Systems that include High Voltage batteries, Electric motor controls, and Li-Ion battery chargers.
  • Work with an experienced cross-functional engineering team and have component design and delivery ownership for Electrical, Software, and Mechanical content from concept through production launch.
  • Work to resolve technical issues by applying structured problem-solving techniques and facilitating cross-functional engineering & test support as needed.
  • Develop vehicle, system, and component level DFMEA and DVP&R documentation.
  • Support EV system bench, dyno, and vehicle component integration testing using Vector CAN tools.

Education Specifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering is required. A Master’s Degree in electrical or Control Systems Engineering is preferred.

Experience Requirements

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

  • Ability to perform and guide others through detailed system level trouble shooting techniques for root cause analysis of electrical component and system issues.
  • Understands project management tools and principles (in topics such as requirements, scheduling, risk and issues, budget, and metrics) through training and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage functional tradeoffs between components and improving designs through clear understanding of operating envelopes, Electrical and Software constraints, as well as manufacturing processes.
  • Analysis of test results in support of corrective actions and driving future design updates.
  • Develop tools to efficiently reduce & summarize test data in charts, plots, and diagrams for purposes of design analysis.
