The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Senior Product Development Purchasing Analyst and help play an integral role in the product development cycle at H-D.  The role is responsible for managing supplier parts/systems for a new model project and ensuring the purchasing milestones within the Product Development Methodology are being met.

 

Here is what you’ll do:

  • Create and oversee project critical timelines, monitoring and accomplishing the goals of multiple projects in a timely fashion, and providing input into the development & execution of new product business cases.
  • Track and communicate all purchasing and supplier related metrics for the projects assigned.
  • Develop effective supplier strategies for achieving fair outcomes to cost and contract terms.
  • Ensure readiness for new model build events and start of production by evaluating and mitigating supplier risks.
  • Review and approve Production Part Approval Process submissions (PPAPs) and coach others on APQP including the evaluation of process flows, control plans, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEAs).

 

Education Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent is preferred.

 

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated performance in technical competencies of procurement and engineering.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in the following:
    • Experience in motor, motor controls, and electronic components is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge and experience in the production or procurement of components and systems, preferably within an automotive or motorcycle manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in implementing strategic purchasing relationships with suppliers.
    • Knowledge of concurrent product and process development techniques and supply chain management, preferably through contribution to new product launches.
