This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when, and how you accomplish your work.


Job Summary

The Director of Membership leads both our acquisition programming, as well as our retention activities for the various membership programs including Harley-Davidson Owners Group.   This position will be responsible for broadening the appeal of Harley-Davidson membership, thereby connecting with a wider community of riders and non-riders.  This position balances strategic, high-level planning along with operations and executional excellence. We are looking for a highly passionate, strategic thinker who can comfortably lead a strategy conversation as well as build a tactical plan and report back on performance.   The ideal candidate is a natural leader who inspires and excites a team of passionate marketing professionals.


Job Responsibilities

  • Reimagine how design and technology meet to serve consumers more directly and personally.  This role exists to create and deliver compelling reasons for consumers to connect, engage and transact with Harley-Davidson.   
  • Responsible for developing consumer-led global strategies that increase relevance of the Harley-Davidson membership program and deliver on our goals for business growth.  
  • Design/evolve the long-range vision for building and retaining riders via membership and loyalty programs and experiences that lead to significant gains in ridership growth and enable a holistic consumer experience.  
  • Evolve the Harley-Davidson Group (HOG), including the growth and retention of our 750K members worldwide.  
  • Elevate and consolidate member insights based on multiple inputs.  Identify opportunities, socialize with business teams and inform business decisions. 
  • Help identify H-D membership growth priorities from both short-term and long-term views to drive both quick business wins and healthy member growth. 


Experience Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years related experience. Minimum of 5 years of management 
  • Demonstrated ability to build community and consumer engagement while delivering commercial results
  • Experience with customer membership loyalty programs strongly preferred 
  • Possesses a strong internal and external customer focus
  • Firm understanding of business and financial concepts to determine the value of any potential investment in the initiatives pursued
  • Demonstrates sound ability to lead and gain results through influence of peers and senior leaders
  • Embodies a strong sense of urgency in terms of both the prevention of issues and the timely and effective reaction to issues if they do emerge
  • Effective leadership, collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to travel 20%-30%
