The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Lead Logistics.

Job Summary

The Lead Logistics-International role is responsible for executing operational strategies for International manufacturing in Thailand from the US. This role will ensure the successful management of the US Consolidation center operations responsible to receive raw material from H-D US-based Suppliers and ship to Thailand. Manage international freight majorly outbound, storage, and delivery of material to the H-D Thailand Manufacturing Plant. This role will also proactively lead continuous improvement efforts to improve warehouse & logistics processes. Need to partner and collaborate extensively with Supply Chain Systems, Finance functions both in the US & sometimes in Thailand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with and be the first point of escalation for lead third-party logistics (3PL) partners (warehousing, transportation, and export documentations).
  • Determine standards for quality control, inventory, and packaging in the Consolidation center.
  • Engage and investigate alternatives with GIS Team in the US for resolution of any system issues and champion future enhancements.
  • Collaborate with a peer(s) across other functions & stakeholders to drive continuous improvement to bring stability to the operations both at the consolidation center & at our US factories shipping raw material to Thailand Facility. 
  • Ensure trade compliance of products (raw materials) exported out of the consolidation site. 
  • Report and maintain key performance indicators (Key Performance Indicators) in a manner that is consistent across the company.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Supply Management, Trade Compliance, Material Ops, finance, and manufacturing to ensure agreed-upon service levels are being met and issues are being resolved in a timely manner.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Education Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Logistics, or Supply Management is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in securing mid-term and long-term strategies and plans set/follow-up goals. 
  • Effective communication, collaboration, negotiation, leadership, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in managing projects with 3PL partners including contract negotiation and RFQ development and doing regular business performance reviews.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to innovate, and takes a creative approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.

Preferred

  • Experience working with SAP system, reporting, and presentations.
  • People person having social skills to collaborate within the Logistics team, 3PL leaders & staff, and cross-function teams. 
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and be a team player with good verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience in managing 3PL relationships with regards to warehouse management, international logistics, and customs compliance

Travel

  • International Travel : 15-20% 
  • Domestic Travel : 20-25%
