The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Business Insights Lead.
Job Summary
This position will support the International sales organization with market intelligence relative to the Developed and Emerging international markets of Harley-Davidson products, services, and experiences. The Lead Market Intelligence will analyse industry and consumer data through internal and external sources, playing a key role in helping implement data driven decisions into market-level business plans. This role will integrate data from relevant sources to identify challenges, opportunities, and implications for achieving Developed and Emerging market business goals. This position will effectively analyze and distill the data into patterns, trends, and insights, develop clear and concise communications related to both insights and implications, and simplify complex ideas and present them well. The Lead Market Intelligence will be responsible for spearheading the integration of learning and presentation to all levels within the International sales organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop business intelligence through a variety of disparate internal and external sources. Develop and manage consistent processes to gather and analyse information and applications across the organization. Define and drive operational and strategic shifts by identifying and leading hypotheses and exploring those hypotheses through analysis to discover the next level of opportunities and challenges. Proactively seek opportunities to strategically link and leverage external knowledge sources to create more complete/deeper intelligence or best practices.
- Deliver market intelligence plans that are reflective of current needs and anticipate future needs of the business teams. Identify knowledge gaps and hypotheses, prioritize and address key business issues. Support markets in developing and delivering market intelligence that contributes towards driving the market-level business plans.
- Lead the design and implementation of appropriate data gathering techniques (qualitative/quantitative, formal/informal, primary/secondary) to obtain the required information.
- Effectively analyze and distill the information into patterns, trends, and insights. Work with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the execution phase, and manage the output process.
- Interact with a variety of stakeholders via various communication mediums (written and/or verbal). This can include communicating results effectively to International leadership via presentations, reports, and participating in special cross-functional teams requiring analytic insights.

Assists the executive with preparation for senior leadership meetings both internationally and in the U.S. as required.

Innovate methodologies and processes to continuously improve processes and responsibilities. Keep abreast of new and changing technology and methods that enhance workgroup skills and those of their team.
Education Specifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Market Research or a related field is Preferred.
Experience Requirements
Required
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Position requires a minimum of 8 years of business analysis experience with specific emphasis on business/marketing analytics and consumer, retail and business intelligence - preferably with consumer brands.
- Proven business acumen and demonstrated ability to conduct, manage and synthesize consumer, retail, market, and product data and deliver c business intelligence supporting business strategies and plans.
- Strong organizational and time management/prioritization skills. Demonstrated experience in integrating disparate sources of information into a coherent “story” that answers specific business hypotheses.
- Ability to influence across the organization at multiple levels and build collaborative, productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.
- Ability to coach, counsel and develop others’ experience.
