Our Powertrain Operations facility, located on Pilgrim Road in Menomonee Falls, WI, is where the “jewel” of the motorcycle comes to life. Pilgrim Road employees produce engines and transmissions for the final assembly plant in York, Pennsylvania, as well as transmissions, and replacement parts for sale through Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Join our team as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer and help build the world’s most sought-after motorcycles.

PTO Scrap cost is approximately $13/unit or ~ $2.5M annually combining internal and external supplied materials.  A dedicated engineering resource assigned to reducing/eliminating top scrap contributors can significantly reduce the scrap spend.  Current engineer and quality resources are tasked with day-to-day tactical problem solving.  The Scrap Engineer will use data analytics to focus on top contributors and deep dive root cause. 

Target/Focus Areas:

  • Steel machined parts
  • Purchased parts damaged in Assembly
  • Engine Pulls

A 10-percent ($250K) reduction in scrap is targeted for year 1.  Contributing requirements and pre-requisites to be successful is system data analytics through improved machine and PowerBI reporting from the Mechatronics Engineers. 

 

Resource Tasks and Job Description:

  • Combine aspects of a Sr Quality and Sr Mfg Engineer.
  • Six Sigma, Black Belt, and Red X problem solving skills required.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
