Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for conducting commodity based benchmarking (cost and performance). Maintain relationships with production OEM suppliers. Lead and manage supplier transitions. Effectively manage supply base in line with best in class expectations. Manage supplier viability. Perform all elements of supplier risk management. Manage compliance of supplier agreements - MSA, JDA, etc. Reponsible for commercial cost management. Manage and lead strategic supplier meetings.

Education Required:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, materials management, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent. If the candidate does not meet the degree requirement a combination of relevant education and experience should total the equivalent of 11 years.

Experience Required:
A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated performance in technical competencies of procurement, engineering, finance, and/or operations are required. The candidate must have strong knowledge and experience in the production or procurement of components and subsystems, preferably within an automotive or motorcycle manufacturing environment. The candidate must have a thorough understanding or experience in implementing strategic purchasing relationships with suppliers. Strong, demonstrated program management and communication skills are required. The candidate must be able to travel to suppliers, conferences, etc., as necessary. The candidate must have strong knowledge of supply chain management, preferably through contribution to new product launches. The candidate must have strong knowledge of operations techniques including but not limited to statistical operator control (SOC), just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing, cost management tools, benchmarking, and other quality and continuous improvement tools. Additionally, the candidate should have a good working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software. Strong technical and manufacturing capabilities. Requires demonstrated communication skills, clear articulate speech, good listening skills and the ability to generate clear, concise written documentation. Must be capable of directing external support staff and outside agencies. The ability to influence through indirect authority is essential. Travel required will average 25% while spikes surrounding projects may result in longer duration. Some international travel may be required.
