The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra , "You dream it. We build it." Join our team as a Tire, Wheel, Axle, and Bearing Senior Design Engineer!

This is what you’ll do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver vehicle components to production, primarily within the tire, wheel, axle, and bearing discipline.

• Deliver optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization

• Utilize engineering tools such as CAD models and drawings, as well as, predictive analysis and conventional engineering calculations to demonstrate and communicate robustness of designs

• Perform DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, analyze test results and bring closure to test findings

Education Required
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.

Experience Required
We are looking for someone with five or more years of relevant experience in vehicle component design, who has also touched on the following:

• Experience and understanding of the required phases of tires and wheels development to qualify and release into production.

• Comfort managing trade-offs between components and improving designs through clear understanding of operating envelopes, load paths, manufacturing processes, material properties, bolted joint analysis, datum schemes, and tolerancing.

• Understanding the impacts tires/wheels/axles/bearings have on vehicle handling and performance.

• Understand trade-offs and benefits of design options and how they affect vehicle performance
