Position Duties:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver vehicle components to production.

• Deliver optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization.

• Utilize engineering tools such as CAD models and drawings, as well as, predictive analysis and conventional engineering calculations to demonstrate and communicate robustness of designs.

• Develop and track work through detailed project plans.

• Lead presentation of design options through a formalized design review process.

• Perform DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, analyze test results and bring closure to test findings

Education Required
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

• Experience in evaluating and balancing requirements.

• Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Strong understanding of fundamental physics.

• Demonstrated examples of innovative thinking and creative problem solving approaches.

• Familiarity with CAD tools .

• Strong analytical and communication skills.

• Ability to effectively learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

• Experience designing components and systems for vehicle foundation brakes.

• Demonstrated success in completing designs that meet their quality, cost, and performance targets.

• Comfortable managing functional tradeoffs between components and improving designs through clear understanding of operating envelopes, load paths, manufacturing processes, material properties, bolted joint analysis, datum schemes, and tolerancing.

• Uses a variety of tools to improve designs (i.e. engineering calculations, bolted joint analysis, FEA, GD&T, tolerance stackup analysis)

• Understanding of ABS, stability, and traction control theory and associated hardware
