The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra, "You dream it. We build it." Join our team as a Senior Brakes Engineer to directly impact the future of Harley-Davidson motorcycles!

This is what you’ll do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver vehicle components to production.

• Deliver optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality standards, and cost minimization goals.

• Utilize engineering tools such as CAD models and drawings, as well as, predictive analysis and conventional engineering calculations to demonstrate and communicate robustness of designs.

• Lead presentation of design options through a formalized design review process. Perform DFMEA's, DVP&R's, analyze test results, and bring closure to test findings.

Education Required
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.

Experience Required
We're looking for someone with five or more years of experience in the following:

• Designing components and systems for vehicle foundation brakes, as well as an understanding of ABS, stability, and traction control theory and associated hardware

• Evaluating and balancing requirements.

• Strong understanding of fundamental physics.

• Comfort managing functional tradeoffs between components and improving designs through clear understanding of operating envelopes, load paths, manufacturing processes, material properties, bolted joint analysis, datum schemes, and tolerancing.
