Job Summary: 
The Lead Retail Sales Associate (RSA) is the first point of contact for Museum retail store guests and will be responsible for providing a positive, enjoyable learning experience for all guests. The Lead RSA is an integral member of our Museum team, responsible for day-to-day operations in either of the retail stores.  The Lead RSA is responsible for imparting knowledge about our products and services to guests and co-workers, maintaining retail environment standards for our products and their appearance, performing opening and closing procedures, conducting sales (cash handling), processing merchandise, training and development of Retail Sales Associates and performing various guest-facing activities.   Lead Retail Sales Associates are expected to model positive and professional work environment in a team setting.
  
Job Responsibilities: 

• Must be able to work 30-38 hours per week on average (a few more in summer, a few less in winter)
• Requires outstanding hospitality skills with the ability to understand and resolve guest questions or issues
• Conduct guest transactions and interactions in a professional manner using a point-of-sale system
• Possess sales skills that will contribute to achieving sales goals
• Providing training and/or guidance to RSAs regarding tasks, standards and store operations
• Maintain a neat and clean Shop environment
• Must be willing to assist or learn all facets of guest service and processing merchandise within our retail shops
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while being fair, honest, creative, and positive
• No set schedule. Must have the flexibility to work weekends, some evenings and holidays, when needed
• Manage multiple duties simultaneously and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Education Requirements: 

• HS Diploma or GED Required

Experience Requirements:

• Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Experience in purchasing, product planning, logistics and/or supply chain
• General knowledge of computer operations and experience working with a retail point of sale (POS) and inventory control system. 
• Familiarity with inventory management, replenishment, and merchandising. 
• PC proficient – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, technical and communication skills

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
