Job Summary
The Communications Manager leads the development and implementation of strategies and content for Harley-Davidson corporate media relations. You will play a key role in fostering advocacy for the company’s point of view and positively influencing the company’s reputation. This position is a primary contact for the media and serves as a spokesperson on corporate issues. A few highlights of the role include:

• Managing the budget and agencies as well as responsibility for the development and implementation of media relations processes.

• Development of content to be shared across internal and external channels, including but not limited to, executive speeches and message documents.

• Providing coaching and counseling to executives and others on communication strategies and practices that advance business objectives, results and reputation.

• Building and maintaining relationships with media; oversight of the company’s speakers’ bureau; managing media monitoring and analysis; oversight of media and speaker training; and support of community relations and social sustainability communications.

• Responsibility for developing, or overseeing the development of, creative content related to his/her areas of accountability.

Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field is required.

Experience Required
We are looking for someone with:

• At least eight (8) years of progressive communication and media relations experience or equivalent, including serving a national/global organization.

• Exceptional written (story-telling, business and journalistic style) and verbal communication skills with strong editing skills.

• Experience developing and implementing communication strategy and plans.

• Strong experience working with media and business media in particular, including proven record of driving advocacy in traditional and non-traditional media including broadcast, print, social and digital.

• The ability to clearly present information through the spoken or written word; read, interpret and articulate complex information with an ability to multitask effectively under competing deadlines and priorities.

• Experience in managing budgets.
