Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, program development and administration of GAP, Canadian Cycle Insurance, and managing the run-off of Credit Life and Debt Protection plans, as well as new product development activities. This position will also have responsibility for training development for All HDFS Protection Products and support of reserve creation for dealers going out of business or being sold and escalated collections for dealers with remittance issues. Key elements of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
(1) Development & Management of the value proposition including product definition and pricing strategies for Gap, Canadian Cycle Insurance, and any new products
(2) Definition and direction of product success factors such as sales support, loss cost containment, and consultative actions with Dealers and Finance & Insurance Consultants (FICs)
(3) Management of corresponding product providers including the establishment and monitoring of Service Level Agreements, provider benchmarking, and prioritizing provider actions
(4) Serving as initial point-of-contact for corresponding product/provider issues
(5) Develop, manage and maintain all Training Materials for all HDFS Insurance and Protection Products including delivery of training from time to time
(6) Development and support of reserves for all protection products for dealers that are being sold or are going out of business as well as managing the process for all dealers late on Protection Product provider payments
(7) This position will leverage data, information, and HDFS resources in a manner that allows for the insight to drive product profit improvement and growth

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Manage product provider relationships; ensure continued availability of required products and customer service support

• Monitor marketplace, product performance and complete ongoing assessments and recommendations

• Forecast program market positioning, volume, pricing strategy and revenue and produce supporting business cases

• Support of the annual business plan for the GAP and Canadian Cycle Insurance programs

• Evaluate/maintain/recommend provider with product/pricing/service/claims strategies that support HDFS sales and profit objectives

• Recommend new/enhanced products and services based on market needs, customer research and business goals. Develop business case, conduct financial analysis and coordinate with Sales and Marketing to achieve required support from stakeholders

• Work with Sales, Marketing and Insurance Managers to develop promotional plans that drive sales of products and services for all HDFS products

• Manage the reserve process for all dealers out of business reserves and managing the collection process for all dealers late on Protection Product payments

• Support and participate, as requested, in dealer and FIC training activities for all HDFS Insurance and Protection Products.

• It is the individual responsibility of every employee to maintain current awareness and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and to comply with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Education Required

• Bachelors degree in business / related field; Masters preferred

Experience Required

• 7-10 plus years of progressively responsible experience in insurance product and pricing development preferred

• Development, underwriting, and / or sales experience of Insurance Products with familiarity as to what drives dealer behavior and performance

• Experience with the Development of marketing materials for Ancillary F&I products strongly recommended

• Operational and industry knowledge regarding insurance regulations and practices preferred

• Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

• Project management experience; demonstrated success in leading product analysis and product volume improvement initiatives preferred
